The revision knee replacement is done when a previous knee replacement implant has failed, loosened, or has resulted in other complications like infection, instability or stiffness. It is performed by taking off the old prosthesis very carefully and inserting a new more stable prosthesis that is expected to perform the functions of the new prosthesis and provide comfort as well.
